Vintage Black Onyx Seed Pearl Mourning Brooch | Marked 14K

Description

This vintage mourning brooch features an oval black onyx tablet adorned with faux seed pearls. Secured by a locking C clasp. Good condition. The piece can be worn as a pendant or a brooch.

Onyx jewelry were mostly worn in The Grand Victorian Era, between ca. 1861-1880. Saddens by the death of the Queen’s husband, Prince Albert, mourning became an art for the Victorians.
